Restorative Dentistry
Fillings
Fillings are used to restore tooth structure to its natural shape and function. They are needed due to decay (cavities) or fractures. The process for a filling involves the dentist cleaning out and/or removing the “bad” parts of the tooth and filling the affected areas with material. That material can either be the traditional silver kind or the white material that matches the existing tooth structure. The type of material used is determined by different factors including location and size of the filling.
Crowns & Bridges
A crown is a type of restoration that is used to cover an entire tooth that has been damaged by fracture or decay. It is also commonly known as a “cap.” Crowns can be made out of several different materials in a wide range of shades to create a natural look.
A crown may restore a tooth damaged by decay or fracture, protect a tooth treated with a root canal, cover a dental implant, or form part of a bridge.

Same-Day Crowns
At Newberry Family Dental, we are proud to offer same-day crown services with a CEREC machine. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It uses a 3D scanner, milling machine, and oven to create crowns that match the shape and size of your other teeth. This helps create a restoration that is highly personalized.
A bridge is a series of crowns used to fill in gaps caused by missing teeth. Bridges help restore the look and function of your teeth and smile.

Dentures & Partials
These removable appliances are custom-made replacements for missing teeth. They help improve your smile in both appearance and function. Dentures and partials also help patients eat and speak more easily. Dentures replace an entire arch of teeth. Partials replace just a few missing teeth and are made of flexible materials, acrylic, or a combination of acrylic and metal.
Implants
A traditional dental implant is a means to replace missing teeth or to hold a denture in place. An implant is a metal post or frame that is surgically placed in the jawbone beneath your gums, usually by an oral surgeon. If the implant is being used to replace a missing tooth, the metal post serves as the root and a crown is placed on top. Dr. Newberry is able to offer same-day crown services with the CEREC machine.
Mini Dental Implants
Newberry Family Dentistry works with Shaktin F.I.R.S.T. to offer mini-dental implants to our patients. These implants are less invasive, less expensive, and less time-consuming than traditional implants. Mini implants can be used in areas where a traditional implant would not be ideal, to replace single or multiple missing teeth, or to hold a denture in place.
